As someone in recovery from addiction, I have had counselling face to face, as well as online counselling and recovery coaching. I have had remarkable results with both. When sitting at home receiving recovery coaching, I feel much more comfortable because I am in my own safe space. As opposed to visiting an office where I am in the counsellor’s environment which can cause anxiety.
Sitting in my living room in front of my computer, I feel no apprehension waiting for my appointment to begin. I can smoke if I want to, have coffee and wear clothes that are comfortable. I do not have to travel which makes the entire process much easier.
Relaxed
When I am in a more relaxed state, I feel more open and willing to share. This creates a more honest and open session. When going to visit a counsellor in their own office I must plan, travel, and spend time before the session planning on what to talk about!
I have also done four years of counselling training and have had greater success online than face to face.
I have received even greater feedback using online platforms for coaching. Recovery coaching online helps to create an amazing connection between you and your client. Today people are having conversations via a video connection on platforms such as Skype, Zoom, FaceTime, and WhatsApp. Because of this people feel more comfortable engaging in conversation, via video link, for extended periods of time.
Studies
Multiple studies show that online coaching and counselling can be effective at supporting people with their addiction, anxiety, depression, and trauma. The same studies also show there is no difference in patient satisfaction depending on whether coaching is online or in person.
With regards to addiction treatment, the costs associated are usually a barrier. Whereas the cost of a coaching session online would be affordable to most people in need of help. Also, for some, location can make visiting treatment centres almost impossible. Many people don’t have the means to travel or are unable to take the amount of time off work needed to follow a programme. This is where online recovery coaching becomes the perfect answer to a desperate problem.
With only a small percentage of the people affected with addiction being able to access treatment online recovery coaching is the perfect solution. Having the ability to select your own recovery coach and get support in your own home in an affordable way is the obvious answer.
System
We have created a system that allows someone in need to find help quickly. The process is simple, search the listing directory for a coach of your choosing, select a time that is convenient for yourself to have a session in your own home or place of work, make the booking and payment, and then have the session and begin your recovery.
We created the Coacherly online recovery coaching platform to ensure that everybody can get the help they need and deserve. We have years of experience dealing with addiction and recovery and believe that online coaching is the future of addiction recovery.
For years, the success rates of recovery from addiction have been embarrassingly low. So we made the decision to be effective in the world of addiction recovery. The blame is very often placed on the person suffering. It is time that those delivering support begin to be more forward-thinking rather than being stuck in the 1930s making people go to ninety meetings in ninety days. It is time we treated the cause rather than the symptom.
Evidence-Based
If your organisation supports evidence-based recovery modalities and encourages people to find the cause of their addiction, rather than treating the symptoms, we would love to hear from you. Contact us if you are interested in learning more.
